ACLS Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Innovation Fellowships 2026–27

The Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Innovation Fellowships support doctoral candidates in the humanities and humanistic social sciences to pursue innovative dissertation research. Applications are currently open as part of the ACLS 2026–27 competition cycle.

Who can apply

Only for: Doctoral students in humanities and interpretive social sciences who have not advanced to PhD candidacy/ABD prior to 2026-01-01 and intend to complete dissertat. Open to doctoral candidates at accredited universities worldwide; ACLS encourages applications from scholars underrepresented in the academic humanities.
